The other day outside school we had a swarm of bees. They decided to take advantage of the warm weather and began to set up a nest. There was probably a new queen inside, while the other bees acted like scouts looking for the next best place to go. A bee keeper was called to help relocate the bees to a safer location. If the bees later make honey we hope it will be named Chatsworth honey.

Bees Behaving Badly,
ReplyDeleteThe other day just outside the school a queen bee fell down on the path. It's swarm followed her all the way and made a big heap of brown on the curb. Mr Harcker said, " There was approximately 30,000 bees.
The children had an assembly and Mrs Williams said that they were bees behaving badly! The bee keeper took them in her car and was going to relocate them to a safer environment. She said that if they produce she might give us a jar so we could have are own honey. It was really interesting although dangerous at the same time. The teachers did not want the children getting hurt so they put special tapes to show that we were not allowed to go there. It was very cautioned and really interesting.

Bees Behaving Badly
ReplyDeleteJust last week a swarm of bees had made a nest outside of Chatsworth Primary School. It has been said that the queen bee had been flying around the area then suddenly fell and the other bees followed.
The school immediately called a bee keeper to lead the bees to a safer place. The bee keeper reported "It was hard at first but once, I got a good a good grip it was done just like that".If the bees soon make any honey we are hoping to call it Chatsworth honey!
Bees behaving badly.
ReplyDeleteA few days ago a queen bee was looking for a new hive, she was tired and fell outside our school, behind the queen bee was a swarm of aproximately 30,000 bees !!! who were all looking after the queen bee. The swarm were smuthered on top of the queen bee so you couldn 't see the queen bee at all.
After the school found out there was a swarm of bees outside our school they immediately called a bee keeper. The bee keeper said " the bees were so busy looking after the queen bee they didn't care about the bee me ". Miss Williams said " the bee keeper was very kind and she would let us have a pot of honey when the bees make it."
The next day some bees were still there but only around 10.
last week a nest of bees had come to Chatsworth Primary School. The main school gate had to be closed as the nest was nearby. Children had to come and go through another entrance which was further down Heathrow road. Tape had to be put up to stop anyone from coming near the bees. The school had to call a bee keeper to come and collect all the bees. There were about 13000 bees to collect. It took about two hours to get all the bees together. The queen bee was there too. She was being looked after by the other bees surrounding her. The bee keeper said that she would give a pot of honey that might be made by the bees. The honey would be named "Chatsworth Primary Honey."
ReplyDeleteSo now everyone can use the main entrance again and the bees have a new home.
