Explanations

-      Literacy (20mins): Explanations
Pick one of your cross breed animals from last week’s homework. Then write a short explanation text about it with two paragraphs.
Paragraph 1: introduction. What is your animal called, what does it look like? What does it eat?
Paragraph 2: How does this animal catch its prey?
For example:

How a Tigon catches its prey?
Tigons are a cross between a female lion and a male tiger. Unlike ligers, which are also a cross breed, tigons are much smaller than a lion or tiger. Tigons have four legs, a long tail and powerful claws. Interestingly, they also have a spotted and striped coat and a small mane similar to a lions.
Tigons, like lions and tigers, eat meat. First they hide in order to sneak up on their prey. Then they slowly approach the prey until they are within striking distance. When ready the tigon will leap at the prey, usually from behind, and sink its teeth into the animals flesh. The tigon will then drag its prey away to a safe place to feed on it.

  1. My animal is a gorilla. It looks like a monkey wearing pants on it's head. They are bigger than an elephant. All gorillas weigh more than 90000000000 kg. Also they eat everything but VEGTABLES, BAKED BEANS and BRUSSEL SPROUTS. Their favourite food is stinky, mouldy and smelly cheese.

Gorillas catch their prey by sneaking behind them and then leaping on the prey. After they rip the flesh so hard that the prey can't live any more. Then they carry back to their lair where more prey is lurking.....

  2. Introduction

My animal is called a Catog. She looks like a cat and a dog mixed together. Catogs have four legs, ligers also have four legs. They eat super wood and their prey which is a bad human. What’s amazing is that Catogs know who is bad or not. They have something on their eyes that scan people to check if they are bad or not.

    How Catogs tortures their prey

Catogs catch their prey by going outside and travel around their world. They crouch and sneak around people. Then they sniff on them without the humans knowing. Fantastically, Catogs can camouflage so they do not get noticed. Then they scan and if it’s a bad person, Catogs get power on their hind legs and then pounce and kill the prey.

  5. Introduction

Catterflies are very interesting creatures, as they are a hybrid of a Siberian cat and a female butterfly. It can run, jump, fly, and swim at 1,000mph to avoid being caught by predators, such as sharks, gorillas, pythons, grizzly bears, etc. However, catterflies are very good friends with tigons and ligers because they are feline animals and also a hybrid.

    How catterflies get their food

Catterflies are usually treated well, but sometimes it gets hungry in the middle of the night when everyone is asleep and there is no one to feed it. So, in those occasions, it sneaks out of the house, and goes to the candy tree, which is guarded by a venomous and dangerous cape hualo – a hybrid of a human and a cape buffalo. The catterfly pours a few drops of poisonous firefly blood into its mouth; the blood will prevent the hualo from waking up. The next challenge is to get past ‘The Gate’. And you can tell it’s no ordinary gate. This gate has shards of broken glass which are covered in toxic liquid – and that’s not all: this gate can fly, making it almost impossible for you to get past it. But not for catterflies. They simply clone themselves and The Gate tries to block the fake catterfly, while the real catterfly makes its way to the tree, grabs a few treats, and rushes back to the house, while it devours the sweet treats. As for the clone, it will just vanish completely into thin air after a few minutes, confusing The Gate.

  6. Rhiphants
    24/11/14
    By Siddharth Sridhar
Rhiphants, a hybrid of two things, just like the Toyota hybrid car. In that situation it is a car with a mix of electric and battery. However in my situation it is a hybrid of animals not substances. Rhiphants as you may have noticed, are a hybrid of a male rhino and a female elephant.
However if it is a cross-breed of a male elephant and a female rhino it is called an elephino. Rhiphants have three horns, two tusks, medium-sized ears and a long but very thin trunk.
It eats grass and a small amount of fish every day. Also sometimes they have gallons of milk for strong bones. They eat 500lb of grass but can eat up to 650lb! They only eat 150lb of fish but if this species (Rhiphants) feels very hungry it could eat 100lb more bringing the consuming level up to 250lb! Finally they drink 4-7 gallons of milk on a daily basis.
How a Rhiphant catches its prey
The Rhiphant slowly lurks about, waiting for its next victim. When its prey is in sight it stomps to frighten the victim. Since the victim is frightened it stays in its tracks.
Once this is done, it approaches as quiet as a mouse towards its prey. Finally when the victim is close by the Rhiphant leaps, stabbing the innocent creature with its sharp, pointy horns, ready to munch its prey up. When nobody is around, the Rhiphant gulps his prey down and approaches another place to start the catching cycle all over again.

  7. Wolfshark

Wolfsharks are fierce but interesting animals as there hybrids, they rarely live long enough grow up to 35 years old, let alone how rare they are .The chance of finding these monster are a 1 in a life time possession, you rather get hit by lighting 3 times then see a wolfshark. Only few aerologist see this beast and they use their whole courier to write about this beast. A wolfshark will eat anything that’s big and juicy it really doesn’t mind on what it eats but it hates to eat broccoli and burls sprouts, if the wolfshark eat any of these to then she will get paranoid and will vomit until it has a faith full death.

    How wolfshark catches its prey

A wolfshark has a very different and risky way to catch its prey .it starts of to follow its prey around where it goes, this is because he can find more animals to feast on while get its main prey. As it follows it get closer and digs its teeth and claw right through the prey skin so that the wolfshark doesn’t eat the fur. Then after it got its prey it howls like a wolf to warn predators that are coming to get the wolfshark.

  9. My animal is called a BoxSharkyFish. It looks like a shark with box jellyfish tentacles. It has very angry looking eyes and its skin is grey and smooth. The scariest thing about the BoxSharkyFish is its enormous teeth which often have bits of fish guts hanging out of them. Its not fussy at all about what it eats, basically if it moves it will get eaten so watch out...

When the BoxSharkyFish eats it looks around and searches for the closes thing possible and then CHOMP! It devours its prey at the most unexpected moment.
